Not every move needs a full flat-rate package. For a small apartment, a few rooms, or an in-home shuffle, hourly moving gives you a trained crew for exactly the time you need, with a clear rate and no surprises on the clock.
A trained crew for the hours you need, at a clear hourly rate agreed before we start.
When Hourly Is the Smart Way to Move
Some jobs are simpler than a whole-home relocation. A studio or one-bedroom across town, a load-out into a rented truck, rearranging heavy furniture between floors, or a quick move where you have already done the packing. For those, paying by the hour for a skilled crew is often the most sensible option, and you are not buying a package bigger than the job.
We are straight about how hourly works. You get a clear rate and a realistic estimate of the hours before we start, a crew that shows up ready with the right equipment, and the same protection and care as any move. The clock starts when we do and stops when the job is done, and we will tell you up front if a flat-rate move would actually serve you better.
Our crews work the whole Bay Area, from San Francisco and Daly City across to Oakland and Berkeley and down the Peninsula through San Mateo and Redwood City.
You pay a clear hourly rate for the crew and time you use. We give an honest estimate of the hours before you book and agree the rate up front.
2. Is there a minimum number of hours?
Most hourly jobs have a short minimum, which we will tell you when you call. For very small jobs that keeps it fair for the crew and clear for you.
3. When is hourly better than a flat-rate move?
For smaller or simpler jobs, in-home moves, or load-outs where you have packed. For full homes or moves with tight building rules, a flat-rate package is often the better value, and we will tell you which fits.
4. Do you bring equipment on an hourly job?
Yes. Dollies, pads, straps, and the basics come with the crew. There is no separate equipment charge.
5. Can hourly movers load my rental truck?
Yes. Loading or unloading a rented truck is one of the most common hourly jobs we do.
6. Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Royal Moving & Storage operates under CAL-T 191476 with full coverage on hourly jobs too.
